Windows

I love to paint windows for holidays, but I HATE to scrape off the paint when that holiday is over. Recently I ran into this post on a blog: http://skiptomylou.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/window-silhouettes/

and I tried it out. I love the concept, but I need to do some tweaking as I don't really care for the contact paper contrast in this example.

Also, you can't see the clouds, but they are there. Anyway, I'll be playing with this some more to see what I can come up with. Follow the link above if you'd like instructions for how to do it. It's a great kids activity too!

Mr. Flatts Concert

So we went to a Rascal Flatts concert the other day and it was a lot of fun. I was particularly impressed by the stage effects that they pulled off and by this really cool violin solo this guy did. I took a few videos of it with the camera until the battery died.

This first video is the guitarist playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," at the beginning you can see the bridge that they would raise and lower to get to the secondary stage and back.


This next video is a really neat violin solo that they played in between songs (that's Kashmir by Led Zeppelin they're jamming out to in the middle):



This last video is the last song they played of the night, and also my favorite song that they play: "Life is a Highway." I tried to catch as much of the neat stage effects as I could before the battery died.

These are hilarious!

Some of these behaviors totally describe our cat! Especially the meow, meow, meow! She does it incessantly in the morning when she's hungry. And how the cat is at the door and seems like she wants in, but doesn't come in right away. We stand at the door wondering if she really wanted in or not.

New Ultrasound Today

So here's another glimpse of what's to come. We got another ultrasound today because the Dr. wanted a better picture of the connection to the umbilical cord. The lab tech let us watch her move around for a little bit. That made it sooo real! I could see her move and feel it at the same time. What a miracle it is to have a little one inside you! I can't even describe what it feels like. You can see how her feet are up in the picture. She was kicking and waving. Amazing is all I can say. This week they compared her to a one pound box of sugar...maybe that's why I've been craving sweets all week! (Does anyone have any good recipes?) Anyway, we're more than half way there :) I'm sooo excited, but I'm also getting more and more nervous to be a mom. I think though, no matter how much we prepare, we'll never be fully prepared.
