Easter and Stuff

Ivy and her friend Anna at our ward's Easter Egg Hunt...it was over by this time and the girls were cold and ready to go home, that's why they look so super excited to be there, lol.

Here is Ivy's Easter outfit that I made for her.  I got the cute pattern for the dress from my good friend Tara and I knitted the hat from a pattern on the yarn I bought.  It was a lot of fun to make and I learned some new skills doing it :)

My Mom's birthday gift this year.  I also found this pattern on the label of some yarn that I bought.  I love to knit!  Mom lined it with some cute polka dot fabric and it turned out super cute I think.

And last but not least, this wedding cake that I got to help Tara Gates with for Tandra Thomas' wedding.  It was a fun, crazy, stressful, and I'm not sure I ever want to do a wedding cake again, but a really great experience type of cake.  (no, that's not them in the photo frame...this was the night before the wedding reception and they wanted to put a photo of them from the Temple)

Projects

My first knitted scarf...Thanks to Cindy Barnes for helping me to learn more about knitting!!!

Crochetted handbag...this one has been in the works for ages.  Finally finished it last fall.

Reversible Christmas tree skirt.  Thanks go out to Susan Johnson for all the help!!  

I couldn't have done it without her!!!!!  My mom also helped out :)  Thanks Mom!

Fun self-binding receiving blanket...awesome tutorial here.

And thanks to our tax return, we got to buy and put together this awesome new dining room table and chairs today!  We'll also get a bench that matches the chairs, but they didn't have any in stock, so it will be another couple of weeks.  Gotta love getting tax return money :)

Weeds and Rocks

Here are the trash bags we filled while clearing out our weeds from the flowerbeds.

Here are the flower beds getting ready for fabric and rock as well as winter.

Got the fabric down and are piling on the 2 tons of rock.  Look at these hard workers :)

Ivy was having a great time helping us out.  It was hard to keep her away from the tools because she likes to do everything that we're doing.  We finally had to take her in because she fell on the cement and scraped her nose.  It was super cold this day.  We were lucky to have a couple of people stop by and help for a bit.  Next time, I think we'll ask for more help.

A Few Pictures

Ivy has loved playing with the mini pumpkins that I had in the window for decorations.  She would cart them around the house and even tried to eat one!  She's learned how to climb up on this couch as well as the kitchen chairs.  I just wish she had a sense of "the edge" and not to get close to it when you're not looking.  We've already had a few bumps and bruises as well as a bloody nose.

 

Chris and I decided last year that this year we wanted to dress up as characters from www.homestarrunner.com

So here we are in all our "glory".  Ivy was The Cheat,

Chris was the drummer from Limozeen,

and I was What's Her Face from the Teen Girl Squad.

This isn't the greatest picture, but it's the best we had.
